Patch Pocket Totes + A Trunk Show

I have been frantically making bags to round out the Spring/Summer Collection 2013. The latest additions are these handsome, heavy linen and leather totes. They have great big exterior pockets either single or paired. I really love the details. There are little silver rivets that catch the light and luxurious leather or suede in contrast..and they zip closed! I can not wait to take one of these out into the world and show her off! I think my excitement is maybe coming across, but I can't get enough of these. They have an old world french feel but with modern details and proportions.
Where to get them you ask?... (scroll to the bottom to find out)

^^The Patch Pocket Tote features a zipper closure! Wonderful, isn't it... Now everything stays put.^^
We will be at a Trunk Show this Saturday, April 47th in Wenham, MA from 3:00-6:00 and all the new bags will be there too!
It promises to be a great social event with appetizers and beverages...and you can get your mom a great handmade gift while your there! See you then.

I'm excited to share these photos from today's shoot. I really wanted the Summer 2013 Collection to be bright and light with pops of color.
Ok, tell me.  Which is your favorite?

Summer Bags 2013 Sneak Peek-2

It's been a very productive couple of days! I've been continuing my exploration of figure ground maps. I'm so in love with their graphic beauty. I'm also testing a new technique (front bag in above image) that involves printing directly on fabric. I'm so thrilled with the results so far.
Can you guess what city this is?

P.S. I'll be doing a full photo shoot and post tomorrow!

Summer Bags 2013 Sneak Peek

I'v been making bags! It's feels great to be in the studio again and to see the fruit of my labor taking form. I'm in love with the color orange, lately. No, always. I'm also in love with the Paris figure ground map. I'm especially excited because this collection features even more brights than before.
Ok, your turn. Which is your favorite?

NEW WORK: Army Blanket Lumbar Pillow

Fall is all about changing out all your summer pillows for warm cozy winter ones. I've been working on a few that will do just the trick!
The Army Blanket Pillow is made from reclaimed army blankets! The super durable felt wool fabric is so luxurious and the extra long lumbar size is versatile. They look great on a couch or even at the head of the bed. Where would you put yours?

I think Penny wants one for her bed! CLICK HERE to go!

NEW WORK: iPad Sleeve

I was in the studio yesterday planning the Fall/Winter Collection, quickly realizing how fleeting summer is. I suppose there is not much to be done but enjoy every moment and embrace the beauty of the New England seasons, right?
So, the first little bit of goodness already on the cutting table (and in the shop!) is an iPad sleeve made of cozy felted charcoal wool. But, of course, there is the signature MAKE.GOOD pop of vibrant orange to keep the winter blues away.
I'm loving this structured, clean lined sleeve, with just a bit of detail to make it interesting.
What do you think? How about the guys out there? Would you love one of these? I had you in mind when making it...

NEW WORK: More summer totes!

I have been busy in the studio! There are new Travel Totes in the shop and they are super cute. This one is my current favorite. Here are a few shots from this weeks photo shoot. The first two images use the Airstream as background. The others were taken outside the studio. I love all the textures in these images. So, what summer plans do you have and which tote would you take along?

The great Travel Tote in the photo above will be one carried by Sports Club LA/Boston Shop! Stop by this weekend and check out MAKE.GOOD studio's collection available at the club all summer.

EVENT: First Thursday JP @ Room 68

Last night after the rain stopped, the sun made an appearance just in time for First Thursday in JP. It was a lovely evening. I got to hang out with these three lovely guys and talk to lots of people about my new work. Everyone was in good spirits and enjoying all the great design this little gem of a shop has to offer. If you didn't get a chance to stop by Room 68 last night, not to worry. MAKE.GOOD studio bags will be in the shop through the weekend!
My new favorite bag is the Natural Canvas Weekend Carry All. (in the photo below) It features natural leather straps and blue piping. Perfect for summer traveling.

If your in the market for a little home decor, check out our new pillows! These will be a permanent item carried by Room 68 so stop by anytime this summer!

NEW WORK: Custom Bags for a friend.

This week my friend Katie called with a custom order. She wanted two bags for two dear friends. I was thrilled! Custom work is one of my favorite parts of what I do. I enjoy finding out details about what people are like, what's their style and lifestyle.

Katie was so excited when she saw the bags I had created for her. She went with the first and last one in the photos above. I hope the girls who get these bags love them as much as I loved making them!
I have to admit I am sad to see the apple green one with the tan leather go. I was secretly hoping to keep it for myself... shhhhh. Which is your favorite??
